Animal Patterns

Moving on from natural form i thought the next best progression was to see there was any patterns could be found in animal species such as there skin or fur

This snake scale interests me as the patterns seems to be of a hexagonal shape, almost like a honeycomb shape. It has lighter edges and darker interior giving the impression of depth. This pattern is something i reckon i could re-create using paper

Looking closer at some animal fur/skin you notice that they have some sort of pattern, in nature this can help with hunting, camouflage and keeping warm etc. Generally it helps the animal out in some way.
