Sea Shell Shape Creation

So after i had created a basic shape using the strip i wanted to more on to something a little harder, but also included some reference to natural form. From my previous creation i found the shell shape a real intriguing shape to investigate. I have dome a couple of design from the skills i had learnt in skills workshop 1, now i thought it would be a great idea to see how i could improve on it with the skills i have picked up in this session.

In terms of inspiration, these are the type of shell forms i had in mind, that i used for reference when designing my piece.

rolling the paper and slightly twisting it at the same time, created the interesting form in the paper. It had the basis of the shell design but needed more distortion.

These pieces have been twisted a great deal more than the previous design. I am really pleased with the result. It definitely has the shell form i was looking for.

Furthermore i realised the camera angle is just as important as the form itself, as I took this photo from a slightly different angle and now more of the shape can be seen and the shell influence can take full effect.
