Tessellation Inspired Design

So with what i have learnt with the tessellation process, i thought it would be a good idea to come up with a 3D model shape based upon the idea of tessellation but branching off from it in a slightly different direction

Although not technically a tessellated shape, the design will only be made up of one shape.

As you can see a bit more clearly on the right hand pic the folded pieces of paper are used to slot the other paper forms into one another, keeping it secure.

The main purpose of this design was to create a shape that used no glue or tape to hold it up. I wanted the individual pieces to be self reliant so each piece helped keep another up. The object is made up of 12 of these 'L' shape letters. The idea worked, the slots in each of the shapes are a good locking system to keep the whole thing together.
The tessellation part comes in for the fact no matter which was up the design is, it will always look the same, its symmetrical in every way.
